Sexual assaults People often talk about rape or about women who took reckless risks. And yet, I suffered a sexual assault at the beginning of the year and I don't see where I made a mistake, but I got 1 month off sick, 1 session with my therapist and 3 EMDR sessions. Not to mention the police not listening. Luckily, close friends were there. But I'm going to tell you my story. There is a very popular app in the Paris region: Frimake (like Ovs for those who know it) It's an app where people organize outings so as not to go out alone. It can be movies, hiking, billiards, restaurants. As for me, I chose a trip to Versailles organized by Joseph. There were 5 of us signed up... It was a bar with a paranormal theme. I get a cocktail and a mint diabolo. The evening is going well. The registered couple eventually leaves. The man there goes to the bathroom. Joseph asks me to move closer and, without me knowing whether that's what I want: he kisses me and tells me how much he wants me. It's nice, it's been a long time, I kiss him back. As for the rest, I make it clear to him that not tonight. We exchange numbers. When the man comes back, we take each other's hands under the table. Joseph makes sure I put my hand on his crotch. I take it away immediately. He puts his hand on my thigh and moves it up. I stop him and remove his hand. I no longer know what to do or say. I look at the time and decide to leave. Joseph insists and tells me to stay thirty minutes. I agree, but ten minutes. My phone, placed right on the table, he grabs it and stuffs it in his pocket. I didn't even flinch (unusual for me). Joseph wants another drink. The man follows him. In the hope of leaving, I refuse. Joseph insists. He insists a lot. Way too much, actually. I give in, but only for a glass of water. But that doesn't suit Joseph, he wants me to take something else. I don't give in: a glass of water and nothing else. I don't remember how or why, but all three of us have our hands on top of each other. I feel uncomfortable. Everything is weird, it doesn't suit me. I hear a voice in my head telling me: "leave" I know it. When I don't listen to it, I regret it. After a brief inner debate weighing the pros and cons, I decide to listen to it and make my companions understand that I'm leaving. I hold out my hand to Joseph. He doesn't understand. I explain that I want to get my phone back. I insist and he gives it back reluctantly. I leave the bar and head back to my car, replaying the evening in my head. Something is wrong, but what? In this kind of situation, I call my best friend while driving. He knows all my states and will detect that I am drugged. Once home, it was obvious. My brain is racing at 1000 miles an hour while making simple movements such as walking is difficult.. My best friend doesn't live near my place. He tells me to call emergency services. I end up at the hospital, which concludes that no drug was detected, although they observed a drunken state with 0% alcohol in the blood. The next day, police station and therapist. I feel helpless because no one wants to take samples. Desperate, I come across a site about chemical submission. I call the number and explain my story. It will take me 3 days and a nameless battle before a lab takes the samples. They won't show anything because I was just within the time limit. There is still one last hope, but I don't believe it given the delays. That evening, I remember having gone to the bathroom. But still being careful, I always make sure to empty it before leaving my glass. I never leave a non-empty glass unattended. Even around my friends. Of course, at the bar, I didn't have my eyes fixed on my glass the whole time, but still ... And then there's this 30-minute story that haunts me. When the time was up, I was driving and on the phone with my friend, in the middle of a trip. Was it because of the kiss? In the drink? What would he have done once the 30 minutes were up? I'll probably never have the answer. And what kills me about this story is: what didn't I do to prevent this? And another terrible one: if I hadn't left, would I have been raped for not being able to say no? So sexual assaults don't just happen to other people! For parents, I strongly advise you to educate your daughters and buy them covers for their glasses or have them bring their own. Because it can happen very quickly despite all the precautions taken. Ps I reported Joseph on the site but he is still there and continues to organize...
