What makes someone submissive, switch or dominant? How does one become it? When I first asked myself this question, as I discovered this aspect, I often read the answer: "It's in us. We don't become it; we are it" I have to admit I struggled a lot with this answer, telling myself it is just a way of life, a desire, an attraction. And yet, today, I give the same answer. Because stepping back, I have always unconsciously adopted a submissive position without meaning to. Even my fantasies before I discovered it went in that direction. So in fact, submission, domination or anything else is simply defined within us, just as homosexuality, heterosexuality or bisexuality are. It is experiences, attractions and questioning that make us become aware, or not, of this part that is within us. So asking a submissive woman whether she agrees to dominate is simply an aberration unless she is a switch. It's like asking a heterosexual to sleep with men regularly... Likewise, asking one's partner to become submissive or dominant is an aberration unless they have already expressed it through fantasies. One cannot become it. One is it or not. It's as simple as 1+1=2
