Erotic comics: when desire learns to hold a pencil

There is something very special about erotic comics. They do not just show bodies. They draw what passes between them: anticipation, unease, play, the gaze that lingers a second too long, the hand that has done nothing yet but already says so much. That is perhaps where erotic comics become so fascinating. They are not just a matter of nudity or provocation. They are an art of rhythm. One panel holds your breath. Another lets you guess. Erotic comics have this rare strength: they can be sensual without being vulgar, explicit without being shallow, funny without being light, unsettling without being aggressive. They can give desire a form, but also question it. And that is exactly what makes them so relevant today.
